Go Big

I often struggle if I’m doing enough. Doing enough with the resources and talents I have to support and serve those in need. I am not the person who will establish a non-profit nor do I have the financial means to create a charitable foundation. But I know how to throw a party.

On Saturday, forty-five beautiful women (plus ten others who were unable to attend) opened their hearts, minds and their pocket books to join me in celebrating the expected arrival of new babies to Loreto House.

Loreto House, located in Denton and Flower Mound, TX, serves those who are in need of support when dealing with an unplanned pregnancy and those who lack the parenting skills required to raise a healthy child. In 2023, 613 expectant mothers and 715 parents were provided parenting classes, counseling and goods, supporting the child until age three. All services and goods are free of charge.

My friends’ generosity went beyond words culminating in more than 130 onesies, footy pjs and baby gowns, 60 pairs of itty-bitty socks, 14 Pack and Plays, 12 car seats, 9 strollers, 8 baby tee shirts 4 fuzzy blankets, 2 high chairs, 1 bassinet, 2 sets of sheets and one, $1,000 cash donation.

God did not equip me to do big things. But he did give me the ability to throw a shindig and to make friends with amazing human beings.

If you’re like me and think you can’t make a difference, think again. With the support of others, your one small gesture could allow, you too, to be a part of something big.
